Mid-day Thoughts

  • Our kitchen floor is either disgusting or sparkling clean, this completely dependent on time of day. Prior to a kiddo, our floor remained "kind of dirty" for months [read: years] at a time.
  • AnnaBee has taken the role of the resilient annoying little sister to J. At this age, it's adorable. She yanks his bink out of his mouth repeatedly, and grins wide with amusement as if she KNOWS it pesters the heck out of him. He doesn't yet know to retaliate (any day now), but it's obvious he's peeved. This morning, J hugged tackled her to the floor. She thought it was crazy funny and grabbed hold of him with unrelinquishing fists and wrestled him to the ground, her size on her side. She was laughing. He was not. * She reminds me of my little sister.
  • Separation anxiety is hitting the house hard. We are discovering this anxiety is of the equal-opportunity sort, which is surprising and unique. This morning she burst into tears when Aunt K left the apartment after dropping J off. She cries when Daddy leaves the room on a daily basis, and all. the. time. with me. We dug the Maya Wrap out of her closet so I can keep her close when possible, but sometimes it just isn't feasible like when I need to dunk a poopy dipe in the toilet. Good-byes are hard :(
  • We invested in an annual pass to the Omaha Zoo!

How come nobody told me I had crazy hair that day? Or is this a normal thing...?

ma familia

she's a thumb-sucker these days <3

*For the record, I don't interfere unless someone is hurt, or bound to be. I like the babies to work things out themselves, if possible. Rough-housing is a healthy thing.
